The Cork Academy of Music was founded in 1994 by Captain Robert Seward (Retd.) with the help of Captain Pat Nolan B.Mus. (Retd.). Since its inception it has taught over 500 students with over 50 going on to third level, receiving various Degrees and Doctorates. The School itself has branched out to other schools in both Ireland and Europe.
The academy was founded with the aim of teaching both theory and practical studies in all musical genres, with the aim of the participants achieving qualification in music skills with certification to give them the opportunity of finding employment in the music industry, or progressing to third level education.
