Ashfield was officially opened by championship golfer, Fred Daly M.B.E. (R.I.P.) on Friday 28th September 1990 after over two years work designing the layout by Frank Ainsworth (of Malone golf club, Belfast and converting the land from an arable farming set up by James and Elizabeth Quinn.

The course has seen continuous improvement over the years with thousands of trees planted from a wide variety of species, new lakes added, maturing greens and larger tee boxes all aimed at enhancing the challenge and the enjoyment.

From Newry:

Take A25 from Newry to Camlough. Follow the signs for Crossmaglen (B30) Ashfield is signposted along the route. We are approximately 25-30 mins from Newry and 5 minutes from Crossmaglen.

From Dundalk:

Take the R177 (from the Lisdoo Pub) to Fords Crossroad then turn for Crossmaglen (B30). Ashfield is on the second road on the right and is signposted. We are approximately 20-25 mins from Dundalk.

From Armagh:

Take the B31 to Newtownhamilton and then the A29 to Fords Crossroad. We are approximately 30 mins from Armagh. Travel towards Crossmaglen on the B30 and Ashfield is located on the second road on the right.

Ashfield is a highly popular venue for golfing societies. Whilst we can't guarantee perfect weather, we can guarantee a great welcome, a fine golf course, some tasty food and an excellent value day out.
