The new Automower™. You’ll never mow your lawn again. In simple terms, the Automower is a fully automatic lawn mower. But you’ll soon find that it’s a sophisticated piece of equipment that seems to have a personality all of its own.

The Automower cuts your lawn automatically by mowing the area within a specified cutting zone – marked out by means of a boundary wire laid around the perimeter of a garden. The mower senses this wire, even when it is hidden or buried at a depth of up to 20cm, and uses it to judge the area it should be cutting.

It then works irregularly around the lawn, whatever the shape, so that all parts are covered. 'Islands' can be created by laying the wire around plants and flower beds that the mower must not run into. If the mower touches any other obstacle, such as a tree, stones (or even your leg!) it reverses safely and selects a new direction before continuing.

The blades are kept out of harm’s way, and it will shut down if anyone (or anything) tries to interfere with the mower whilst it is in use. A single Automower can mow a lawn up to around 1800m2 in area, and covers about 75m 2 an hour.
