Fort William Salmon Rod Fishery In Waterford, Ireland

Fort William was built in 1836 by the Gumbelton family and is a fine example of Georgian architecture. As well as the fishery, there is a working farm and a small shoot, set in 380 acres of parkland and woods.

The estate is located 2 miles from the Heritage town of Lismore in Co. Waterford and looks out over the stunning Blackwater valley, famous for it's salmon fishing.

The estate owns 1.5 miles of double bank fishing and also runs another 2 miles of salmon fishing down to Lismore, including the famous Lismore Castle Beat.

Accommodation:

On the estate, we have one self-catering cottage. The surrounding area contains a wide variety of accommodation and activities.

The River Blackwater:

The River Blackwater is over 80 miles in length and flows through the counties of Kerry, Cork and Waterford. It has a 15-mile long estuary and large catchment area, consisting holds its water level much better than many other rivers.
